Because You Don’t Need to Be Rich to Live Luxuriously
Why Ecuador? Because You Don’t Need to Be Rich to Live Luxuriously.
For many Social Security is a large part of their retirement. And with the average U.S. Social Security check averaging $1,335.00 [2015] per month - that money doesn’t go far in the US. But in Ecuador, those funds allow you to have a life without worry of your money running out before the end of the month.

Because Ecuador is Ranked #1
Ecuador has been ranked as the best retirement destination in the world six times in the last seven years due to its exceptional quality of life and affordable cost of living in International Living’s Annual Global Retirement Index. They used many factors in determining their choice and included such things as government, stability, currency, infrastructure, roads, living expenses, and cost of food to name a few.
Fresh fruits and vegetables—clean air and water—year-round temperate climate—no wonder so many expats living in Ecuador say they feel better than they have in years.
Pathfinder International, Live and Invest Overseas, Barefoot Wanderer, Escape Artist and others also came to the same conclusion that Ecuador is #1.” Ecuador is the #1 Retirement Haven in the World for 2012. It boasts great weather year-round… a US-dollar-based economy… top-notch medical care at one-fourth to one-tenth the cost in the States… a retirement program that will save you thousands of dollars a year… and a low, low cost of living.

Because Health Care is so Cheap
Medical care in metropolitan areas is top-notch with costs a fraction of what you would pay in North America. And now all residents of Ecuador are eligible to join the country’s Social Security healthcare system with premiums of about $85 a month for a couple.
The doctors are well-trained and you can find private clinics that offer the highest levels of care and services. Health Insurance plans are available for less than $40 per month. A visit to a doctor’s office without insurance would cost around $25 while an overnight stay at a hospital would cost $35. And many hospitals are totally free, even the prescriptions provided the hospital's pharmacy has them in stock.
Dental is so cheap it is not even worth talking about. For example, a friend told me that in the US it cost him $200 to repair 2 teeth. The same 2 teeth in Ecuador cost him $30!

Because Ecuador Respects Senior Citizens
Ecuador offers special benefits to residents aged 65 and older. Public transportation is half price, airfare (even internationally) is significantly discounted, and seniors receive a monthly refund of sales tax paid. Plus you get to go to the front of the line at the bank and grocery store!
Because Gasoline is so Cheap
Do you think $1.03 per gallon for diesel or $1.49 for gasoline will break the bank? And with prices like this you will enjoy seeing this most beautiful country and all it has to offer.
Because Natural Gas is so Cheap
In Ecuador natural gas is a big deal. It runs your water heater which is typically tankless [on demand.] It can also run your cook-top and oven and can also run your dryer. You may even want to use it for cooking on the grill. But don’t worry. It is so cheap you will laugh out loud [LOL] because it is only $2.25 for a 40 gallon tank. Not a 20 gallon tank like in the US that runs about $20.
Because Food is so Cheap
Your typical meal consisting of a shrimp soup, fried fish, rice, plantains, a salad and fresh squeezed cold glass of juice will cost you a whopping $3.00. This price includes tax and the tip! And remember… you are eating this meal on a Pacific Ocean beach! Want a beer with that meal? It will cost you a $1.25 for one that is 22 ounces.
With prices like this you may never cook at home again. But, should you decide to cook at home you can have fresh vegetables and fruit delivered direct to your doorstep.

Because Ecuador is Hurricane-free
It’s nice to know that unlike Central America and the Caribbean, Ecuador is completely out of the paths of Hurricanes.
Because Ecuador has Hawaii-like Weather
Although Ecuador is on the Equator, the climate is very moderate. Due to the ocean currents and wind patterns, the temperature here in Chipipe ranges from 75 to 90 throughout the year. During certain seasons, the temperature can be as low as the mid 60s and at other times may reach 95 or slightly higher, but these temperatures are rare and don't last long. Ecuador does not receive any hurricanes or large storms on the coast. November thru May is considered the summer months with full sun, higher temperatures, and incredible sunsets.
Because Ecuador is so Close to the US
Ecuador is only a four hour flight from Miami.
Because it is Easy to Get a Visa
The laws are constantly changing, but at this time, you can get a resident visa by "investing" $25,000 and an additional $500 per each dependent. This investment can be made by purchasing land or a home. You can also purchase a C/D in one of the National Banks. The C/D is held to secure your Visa.
The current interest rate is around 5–8 %. The C/D can be set up to deposit your monthly interest into a checking account. So you not only get your Visa, but you get a monthly income of over $100. There are other Visas available as well. We suggest you contact an attorney with immigration experience. We can assist you with a recommended attorney.

Because Ecuador Uses the US Dollar
The US Dollar is the official currency of Ecuador. There are Banks and ATMs in most cities. You can open a bank account, here in Ecuador, with your passport. Credit Cards are accepted, although you will receive a discount for paying in cash.
Because You Want a Better Quality of Life
Ecuador may just well be the perfect place for you. We have met many people who want more quality family time. When we ask their kids how they like Ecuador, the response is unanimous… we love it here. They tell us they have many friends and like not getting picked on like they did in the US.
The parents are just as equally excited because they don’t have to worry about the children being safe here in Salinas.
Once you visit here you will witness family units doing activities together. It is not like in the states where the kids never want to hang out with their parents. In Ecuador the family unit is VERY strong.

Summary
In Ecuador, depending on your lifestyle, a couple could live on between $1000 and $1500 per month. Don't be mislead into believing you are going to get a huge mansion and have maids, etc. like people lying on the Internet would have you believe. However you can rent a small home, eat out when you want, get a beer with every meal, and stay under $1500 or so per month.
Because there is no processed food served at the restaurants you will most likely find yourself losing a little weight while feeling better at the same time.
The weather is great and it is sunny more days than not.
Come and experience what a “stress-free” life can feel like.
